Young Butta hailing from the Westside of Cincinnati, Ohio just released a 10 track EP, Free Agent.
Dominating the underground battle rap scene since the early 2000s, Young Butta continues to prove that talent is worthless without work ethic.
On a mainstream scale, Young Butta’s 2015 single “Money Dance” went viral and he previously appeared on Young Thug’s “Bread Winners” track from Thug’s I’m Up mixtape.
Arguably one of the best lyricists from his city and the Midwest period, Young Butta is now a free agent due to a breach of contract with his former label, About Billions which he discusses on his “Free Agent” track.
From start to finish, Free Agent is raw and lyrically aggressive with no features.
The project features production from Dun Deal and a sample of The Chi-Lites “Have You Seen Her”.
Young Butta continues to create his own wave without falling victim to pressures of sounding like everyone else. Butta paints a picture of the pain of Cincinnati – violence, broken homes and drugs.
Butta even showcases a seldom seen sensitive side on his “Iyana’s Dad” track about the love for his children.
Free Agent simply put is motivational street music that will inspire you to get money and stay on your shit!
Notable quote: “I Did It My Way Aint No Better Way To Do It” ~ Young Butta “Elevator Music”.
